wish someone rich would build a track around here. closest track is 1&1/2 hours in either direction one way(lvd & island). E-town and atco would be 2&1/2 to 3&1/2 hours one way.

Damn we need a Sheik around here to do such a thing! Closest track to me is 2.25 hours away which is NED.. then there's LVD which is 3 hours away! Kinda sucks...

KEY:
"...initially as a way for his friends and him to compete against one another. He sees the track as a way to reduce accidents by providing drivers with a safe environment."

Yeah I saw this quote:
He sees the track as a way to reduce accidents by providing drivers with a safe environment.

“We have safety here, paramedics, an ambulance, and we give out trophies to the winners, something they can’t get on the street,” said Sheik Mualla, who no longer races on the track. “So what’s the reason to race out on the main roads?”
And thought, gee, I wish our elected officials here were smart enough to use that kind of common sense logic.

The problem is not the land or the money to build the strip, its the neighbors around the potential area. I'd say 95% of people dont want to hear outrageously loud cars behind their houses at night and early mornings especially during the weekends. It sucks, but it's the truth.

That's o.k. those people can put their houses up for sale, and I'd be happy to sell mine and move in next door.. noise wouldn't bother me a bit. And I think there's enough people that feel the same way and would follow suit.

Build it and they will come... there's enough room in CT for one, just have to get someone with the $ to buy the land, build it, and if need be, buy the neibhoring houses, and sell them to people knowing the track is there.
