Default roll bar ?'s

So I be reading that with a vert Im gonna need a roll bar if I get it to 13.49 at the track. I ran a 13.8 with just a lid my first time there so im not tooo far from that! My question is would those light bars qualify as a roll bar?? herres a link to what im talking about.

http://deftracing.com/light_bar_camaro_firebird.htm

It says roll bar style?? I dont like the look of them, but i dont want to do a complete roll bar.

you definately need a real rollbar... if ya decide that none of the kit ones will suit your needs I have a guy that can do one in CT for a good price and the quality of work is superb.

wolfe makes a farly nice kit, there probably the nicest kit bar you can get, if you want something diffrent you have to go custom I had my friend make mine for in my car, I bought a S&W rollbar and we rebent all the bars to how I wanted them.

well with the new rules True/ pure street street with bolt ons you can run into the 11's with no bar in a vert. i ran mid 12's with no hassle in my vert At NED

you also got to ask yourself, do you plan on racing alot? If you just want to make a few passes a year I wouldn't sweat it, until your going really fast.

Build another car for the track and leave that car MINT

I have a Wolfe, love it. It was easy to install, just a couple of hours in the drive way. I know at NE Dragway they really make a big deal about the padding

As an example, under existing Summit E.T. rules, a convertible running 13.99 and quicker must have a driveshaft loop and roll bar. Under the new rules, a pure-stock street-legal car will not require this equipment unless it runs 11.49 or quicker.
Vehicles must meet all state-highway safety requirements for the state in which the vehicle is registered, must be street driven, display valid license plates (or temporary permits), and have proof of vehicle registration and valid insurance.

I'd try to get by without it under those pure stock rules. I'd hate to have to hack up a CETA, that's something that could be worth a few pennies down the road.
