Default Remember the Home & Garden Contractor From Auburn?

Today was the first day in court. The contractor was there with his wife and I was there with my attorney. It was just a quick 5 minute meeting to go over what is required and to set up a pre-trail hearing date. That will be on October 22nd. The contractor didn't have any interest in possibly settling today. He said that his attorney would need at least 6 months notice but that was shot down. So now I'll be waiting for the next date. I can be awarded triple damages plus my attorney's fees. Figure that plus what he could pay his attorney, this might cost him about $20k in the end.

The court house is only about 5 minutes from my house. This took a few hours out of his day

Hang his *** out to dry. Guys like him are the reason why I follow through on all of my sidework. You can't deny a customer and make them forget 6 grand. Take him down and thwart his followers!

on a side note, couldnt he get you for posting pictures about him, pictures of him and his license plate on the car? From reading the website he sounds like he's an illiterate ******* so I probably wouldn't worry about it.

What kind of argument does he have, "50% of the work was done?" What kind of logic is that, you do a job and you do it right.

I just see him trying to drag this out as long as possible. He wanted a minimum of 6 months notice for his attorney. This isn't a murder trail! He might have only took care of about 5-10% of the work that he was supposed to. I even had to plant some things myself. I hope his hometown paper prints a follow-up story when this is over.

One month until the big court date! This is going to be a jury trail. He origionally said that his lawyer required a minimum of 6 months notice but it looks like it's going to represent himself. This should be entertaining. The one thing that he keeps bringing up is the website -

http://www.bewarehomeandgarden.com/

I think he does that to try to take the spotlight off of himself. It doesn't work to well. Doing our meeting a few months ago, the court representive explained that he'll have to show how much work he did and how he came up with this total (materials and labor). He'll be ordered to give me the rest. And at that point, it will turn into triple damages plus my attorney's feels. Yes, it might be hard to get $ out of him but there are ways to make things happen. This story is either almost over or a new chapter is about to begin.

Hopefully there isn't a next time

I've been told that the guy is always hime so I guess he doesn't have much if any work. Kind of sucks that it had to turn out like this but I guess it's just another lesson learned in life.

What a piece of dung this guy is.. had he just done the right thing up front, this wouldn't have been drawn out and costly to him.

Stay on that jerk.
