Default Kaltech Tuning and Performance Exhaust and Tune results..

We recently installed a Kooks 1 3/4" Catted header setup and borla exhaust on a 2000 Camaro SS for a customer and gave it a tune. The only mods before the install were an SLP lid and K&N Filter. The peak gains were 31 rwhp and 25 ft lbs at the wheels. Those are very nice gains considering there are still cats and there's a stock ls1 intake with emissions stuff. Final numbers were 326 rwhp and 334 rwtq. We're right on long island so feel free to give us a call and we'll set you up with a package to fit your needs.

Those are nice gains and good numbers to see on a Mustang dyno. Did you baseline it after the exhaust install but before the tune so you know how much it picked up from the tune?

No, unfortunately I didn't make any pulls with just headers. There was a hypertech tune in the car when it came in but it had the timing jacked and was pretty lean. Enough that I didn't want to make another pull with that tune. Typical gains from the tunes are 10-15 hp and roughly the same torque. I seem to find more torque in the x-pipe cars (vettes and gtos). I recently tuned a C5 vette that came into the shop with headers and an intake and found 28 ft-lbs. in the tune.

That seems about right, my car had a lean A/F and pulling timing on a stock tune/

Thanks for the info. That's a nice gain you saw.
