Anyone have 2 extra tires laying around? Hey guys.
I just got my car registered and have only 10 days to get it inspected. Not 30 like I thought. So the only thing that I can see that may fail inspection is my front tires. The middle is fine but the outsides are pretty shot. The car needs an alignment for sure. Here's what DMV says about tire requirements.
A tire will fail if,
A tire has two adjacent treads with less than 2/32-inch tread remaining at any point—less than 4/32-inch tread on the front tires of the vehicles having a gross weight in excess of 10,000 pounds.
It's borderline as to whether they will pass or not.
I'm not looking for brand new tires, just something that would pass inspection if I needed to put them on. I'll be buying new tires soon enough anyway so I don't want to spend much, if anything, on 2 tires just to get it inspected. If anyone could help me out it would be greatly appreciated.
Size would be the stock 275/40-17
