Today, Toyota did this:
"After a 17+ year reign at the top, the Ford F-150 has been dethroned as the best selling-vehicle in America. The F-150 has been the best-selling vehicle in the U.S. every month since October 1991, but four fuel-efficient cars knocked it from its perch in May.
During the month of May, Ford sold 42,973 F-series trucks while Toyota moved 52,826 Corollas and 51,291 Camrys and Honda sold 53,299 Civics and 43,728 Accords.
Jim Farley, Ford group vice president for marketing and communications, called the leapfrog of the F-150 a "significant development."

It was only a matter of time with $4 a gallon gas. Interesting to see that the Corolla and Civic actually passed their big brothers as well as the F-150. It used to be that the F-150 was the number one seller and the Silverado #2, followed by the Camry and Accord. Times are changin'.

And yes I'd buy a Ford, maybe even a Ford from that guy.

GM and a few other American brands arent selling as well, they average dip they just took in the last quarter was on average; 25%.
They put alot of faith in their trucks and SUV's and its really hurting them now. You would of though the markey analysts would of seen this era coming in some sort of light and advised a huge operation like GM to explore expanding their smaller car market.
It's not like the gas prices will ever go down. The gas is harder to find so that cost more, we have to drill in more remote/dangerous places so that cost more and we are seeing less and less oil being drilled. We're starting to dwindle the supplys, it's plain and simple. 100 million years to build it up and 100 years give or take to really dig into it. GM and Ford have really small and cool looking cars in Europe but they refuse to bring them over. Beats the hell out of me.
Go ahead and make that 10 mpg truck a hybrid and tell people it gets 15 mpg, that'll change everything.

And I said, I don't care if they lay me off either, because I told, I told Bill that if they move my desk one more time, then, then I'm, I'm quitting, I'm going to quit. And, and I told Don too, because they've moved my desk four times already this year, and I used to be over by the window, and I could see the squirrels, and they were married, but then, they switched from the Swingline to the Boston stapler, but I kept my Swingline stapler because it didn't bind up as much, and I kept the staples for the Swingline stapler and it's not okay because if they take my stapler then I'll set the building on fire...
