Default Big Props to Matt at TTP - G8 GT Tune * Graph now attached

Just got back from getting my bone stock G8 tuned at TTP. Being it was the first one he has tuned, there was some different protocols that took some time to sort out such as the AFM and Transmission tuning software. Matt put a lot of time into the car and made sure it was done right.

At the end of the day, the results showed 20rwhp and 17rwtq in 93 deg. weather in comparison to a baseline dyno run done in 70 deg weather a few months prior. The car feels great and the transmission tuning really changes the attitude of the car. Shifts are firm but not harsh.

To top it off, the 45 min cruise on the highway home yielded an average of nearly 29mpg....for a car rated at 24 mpg highway. I've never seen numbers even close to this w/o the tune.

Can't wait to get this car to the track in cooler weather to see what it does.

-Brian

Wow almost 30 mpg on the highway out of a 400 hp car. Hmmmm working for Honda I wonder what some of these customers would say about. Crazy eh?

The GT's L76 has 361 hp and 385 lb.-ft. He's getting close to 400 hp after that tune and with some bolt ons he'll probably be faster than the LS3 powered GXP that's coming out.

That is incredible highway mileage for a 4000 lb car! I'm at about 3800 lbs and the best I can do on the highway is 23-24.

And you're still about 7mpg up on any chrysler model v8.

Wow, that's some impressive mileage. Were the hp/tq numbers you stated SAE? Or can we factor in the weather you stated?

I left the sheet in the car since it was pouring when I got back. I'll post it later tonight to show the difference from the stock pull vs. the final.

Final numbers were 314rwhp/334rwtq SAE

Got my car tuned there about Two weeks ago. Gained 34Hp 20Tq from the baseline, can't be happier . I drove an hour and half to get there and average just under 24MPG(that included them tuning it)

LOL Drew... Ya don't forget about my "20 minute hack job tunes" that I complete according to some no name sponsor on ls1gto.com. Funny how kids that just get their HPTuners less than a year ago, that is also operating with no business license, and not collecting sales tax can throw stones... But that's for a whole other post...

Brian congrads, the G8 is definitely stout car and a nice overall driving experience. It breaks the tires loose in 1st manual mode now

I've actually got something I'm working on at the moment. Should take me a few weeks to get together but I think it will really wake this engine up. It will probably need a retune

I just read the head poncho article in GMHTP.

The 06 GTO project car with an intake, predator tune, UD pulley and new MAF meter put down 338.2hp & 324.1rwtq through an auto on this same dyno. It took a full exhaust including long tube headers, high flow cats and a catback to beat the G8's tq numbers.

I'm impressed! Now I just need to work on my numbers
