Happens with USPS too, so I'm guessing brown and Fedex have the same policy; No insurance, tough ****. Insurance is a ripoff, but really a must for something like this. If they sell insurance, why would they reimburse you for the uninsured? Further, everybody's late Netflix would be Strativariouses.
I'm guessing you're package isn't exactly lost, just maybe an incorrect address, or more likely a damaged label. If it's in Ohio, find the number for the ohio station, explain to them that it's very valuable and would be easy to find. If it's there they can find it. It's frustrating, I know. They took possesion of your (expensive) property, and they know 100% that they messed up, but if it never turns up you pay. Either get screwed paying for insurance or take a chance at getting screwed by lost packages.
In the end, I'm betting it'll show up. Good luck.

at least you wont lose any money, he should refund the cash to you. Its the sellers responsibility to get the product to you, if its lost he has to deal with the claims and insurance. DHL finds there way out of lots of claims

I used to work for DHL in a routing facility, it would be really hard to steal something from the one around here unless you were friends with a truck driver, and you were the person who seals the truck. It's not like you can walk out the door with an extra pin in your pocket, although it would be easier as a white male to steal something than if you were a non-white male.

The seller is being realy cool about it he did have it insured so I will get the insurance money and still ahve to send him my trans. I just really did not need this complecation right now. I know it has to be sitting there somewhere it would be hard to slip it into your truck.

Same thing happened to me when six speeds inc shipped my trans to me. Amber was bitching at them when we were on conference with DHL magically they found it. You have to keep on their asses, it is sitting in a warehouse somewhere and the tag fell off it.

UPS screwed my brother over. He sent a computer to get fixed. Had it insured for 1400 bucks. UPS delivered it back to him in pieces and now wont pay the insurance money because "there is no proof that they broke it." Insurance on shipped items is a joke.
