1st Annual Kooks Custom Headers New Age GTO SHOWDOWN @ Cecil County Dragway,Rising Sun, Maryland October 3rd & 4th

My friends have a private track rental for their Buick club on October 3rd & 4th @ Cecil County dragway in Maryland and have invited all of us new age GTO’s owners to come and have our OWN race on Friday & Saturday. Buicks and GTO’s will not be competing against each other. We will each be running our own event.

On Friday we will have a open test & tune all day 9am-4pm with an option to run in a gamblers race for an extra fee. We will be able to make as many passes as we want since it will only be us GTOs and the Buick guys… No ricers, etc to worry about.

On Saturday we will have 3 race classes

#1 Street tire class (bracket style racing)

#2 Drag radial & slick class (bracket style racing)

#3 Quick 8 (8 fastest GTO’s ~ Heads up race)

Trophies & cash prizes for each class!

Street tire & drag radial/slick classes will have trophies & cash prizes for the winner & runner up (amount to be announced)

For the Quick 8 class we will have trophies & cash prizes for # 1 qualifier, winner & runner up (amount to be announced)

Rules for Quick 8
1)The fastest 8 GTO’s (those who don’t make the Q8 can still compete in the other classes)
2)All run a pro .500 tree
3)Qualifying order will be 1vs8 2vs7 3vs6 4vs5
4)No limits on cubic inches or power adder’s RUN WHAT YOU BRUNG
5)NHRA safety rules in effect

There is plenty of love with QTP & Rocksandracing

No need to be part of a club you can pre-reg and save some money or show up at the track that day but we prefer to pre reg so we know how many car we have

There is no noise restrictions

Yes you can bring the vette or any other car just have to run in the test n tune

Yes you can come on both days with any car just have to run the test n tune or if you have the GTO you run with us or a Buick and you can race with the Buick guys


You can ask all the ??? you like I might have the answer I might not LOL!!!!

I got a dry sense of humor....u will get used to it.

I talked earlier to Frank. He knows we may have a few cars coming....one of which has a strong tie-in to Mufflex. I'll let you know ASAP once I get everyone's committment. We're looking forward to the Cecil experience (a few of us have never been there) with you guys and also the various area groups hanging out for a good time. TNT is more fun anyway. As the lone GTO from up our way, I have a feeling I will have to represent if Rick can keep me running.

Melissa has been really busy with work,getting sponsors for the race, Blaise keeping her busy up @ the shop LOL!!! and racing

Thanks for the support it is great you can bring a few cars for the TNT is really fun there is no pressure to do good LOL!!!!

I might bring the camaro down have to see how busy i will be making sure everything is 110% right as Melissa will be racing i will be in charge of the GTO stuff and making sure everything is going good

OK guys we just got back with meeting with the buick guys

Friday $50.00 for all cars to run

1) Open testing all day
2) gamblers race later in the day, we are thinking of having a GTO lane and a Buick lane to see who makes it to the end,
3)talking about doing $5.00 races
a) pick a dail and who ever comes the closest wins the pot
b) would be best light and the winner wins the pit.

Just something to make the day interesteing, the gamblers race & the $5.00 races are optional if you wanted to to try and win a little money on a pass,

Saturday $50.00 for GTO's/ Buick's all others makes are $60.00

Should get 2 or 3 time shots in the morning these wil count for the quick 8 qualifing, then in the afternoon go into eliminations,
