Default World Cup Finals (Import vs Domestic) Nov 9th, 2008

Hello to all GM racers! My name is Jason Miller and I am the Event Director at Maryland International Raceway. Alot of you here on the east coast have heard of our World Cup Finals (Import vs Domestic) event. I have had some help from a few GM racers to open the rules up to the different LT and LS combinations, that previously were not allowed. I am new to this board, but we have run many EFA shootouts at our track and I love the F body cars. I used to own one myself a 91' Camaro.

Check out the rules on our site, and we would love to have you come and participate in a heads-up class or an ET class or just watch a spectacular event! Last year we had 786 racers and just over 10,000 fans in the grandstands! A huge audience for you to race in front of and a race where the street cars are the focus of the event! Not Pro Mods, Pro Stocks, etc... You are the main event with crowd cheers and roars like you have never seen before!

On Sunday, November 9, 2008

Real Street, Street Fighter, Wild Street, True Street, All-Motor Street, Street Stock, Street ET, and Streetbike ET Winners will all receive one of these huge silver cups for their trophy case. These trophies are very expensive, sliver plated, great quality, with a piano wood base.

Come and get em'

Are the crowds in the stands fairly evenly split in who they favor, or are they TOTALLY biased towards the import **** like ALL of the E-town events??!

Just looking over the rules, looks like an interesting race. Rules semms pretty well balanced. If work permits, I will have to come down to watch. Wish I could race, but there is no way my turd would be competitive in any heads up race.

Good luck with the event, looking forward to seeing it.

its pretty well spilt IMO.. You have some fast *** drag radials cars.. some cool imports running. Its a event that really caters towards the average person. A few years ago my 6 speed formula was racing in it.

MIR puts on a great event, and not going to lie.. bikini contest in november kicks ***.

The crowd is very well split. Huge crowd cheers during this event when its a close race (as it usually is, even with 10-second and 11-second cars), the crowds are very vocal at this race. Gives you goosebumps!!!

6 of the classes are heads up, and two are bracket classes.

The 14.99 and quicker in Street Stock is just the minimum ET to enter, its not index racing. We do the 14.99 and quicker so we dont have 15 or 16 second cars wasting qualifying time when they dont have a shot in the world of qualifying.

All classes have a minimum ET to enter qualifying, that way we get closer to the "cream of the crop" racers before qualifying gets down to 16 cars.

For those cars that dont fit into a heads-up class, or isnt fast enough for minimum ET's they can enter in the Street ET bracket race.

I've been to a couple of these as i grew up, they are amazing to watch. Very evenly split, if anything i'd say there was a little more favoritism toward muscle cars if anything. It's a great time to forget about hating mustangs and vipers and teaming up on the imports hahaha. +1 for sponsoring a great event, i dont think i can make this one but wish i could!!
