neat. I would like to do this to my POS '89 ford ranger someday if I could be totally sure I could get at least 100miles/charge or more. solar panel incorporation would be a must as well. Would suck to have the car sit somewhere for a few days not hooked to a charger only to try and go somewhere and its dead.

^^^ I think the guy is planning on converting it to all electric. He's just only begun tearing everything out. There's mention of how much room is in the engine bay for batteries several times in the write up.

He is planning to go all electric. I will have him post up the info on the web site about the engine. He is just in the process of getting everything out and working on where he is going to put the batteries and starting to think about mock ups for the motor and how it will fit.

After sitting hear today and looking at the build start to finish, I see that the stock tranny is being used and it looks like the stock clutch. Dunno how that is going to work. torque wise because the those electric motors are torque monster and the torque comes on in like a nano second. But, still one hell of a idea tho

RsSean seems like a good guy. I have yet to meet him but hope to August 29th if I can get down there for his 3rd get-together. I have been following this thread and that looks like a really cool project. Thanks for the updates. Look forward to the finished product.
