Default Took the Z to the track

Well, a couple weeks ago I took the "new" camaro to the track to she what she could muster. She's got a tune from EFI Alchemy and a Lid. Now the best I could muster was a 13.8@103.99. Now at first I was very disappointed with that, but then a realized a few things. The clutch is stock with about 92,000 miles (car is a Canadian car in KM's, about 144,000 km). It's having hydraulic issues along with slipping real bad off the line. After the first stage, the clutch stuck to the floor momentarily . Pair that with the fact that I had to granny shift each gear while waiting for the "wall" to go away and get into each gear, I don't think it's that bad at all. Here's the slip, I'm number 50.

With that clutch issue you are at least 1/2 sec slow I guestimate....do a flush of the clutch fluid & the drill mod and see if that helps, but I suspect new clutch time!

Did the drill mod about a month ago. It's better, but still not enough. I think it's a combination of the pressure plate and hydraulics. Both have seem better days I'm sure.

Come Christmas time I'm planning on an LS7 clutch, Tilton m/c from Tick, and new slave. Since this car is paid for, and I'm waiting til I go back and then out of school to do some real mods to it, I figure go with the Tilton unit now instead of paying for a stock replacement then having to do it again later anyways.

Not to shabby for your first time out though. Get the clutch issuse fixed and put a set of DRs on there and you will be good to go

Yeah Iam looking into getting the Tilton too. I just need to save now to have the rest of the tranny built again and put in another clutch.

Hey Doc. Married life has been good. I think you'll remember this car. It's the little Canadian import, complete with block heater! But, I promised the wife no more mods 'til I'm done with school....and I'm not even in school yet. So for now she's mostly a DD. It just erks me that I can't powershift or even come close to it. And ya know...a full exhaust will help with the efficiency, and get better mileage .

No mods, but what about maintence or repairs? I.E. programming PCM for a drivability concern .
