Default Tool shout out

I just ordered a cam for my 2000 z28. I plan on doing the install my self and I was wondering if anyone in the St augustine area had a lifter holder tool I could barrow for the install. It just seems easier than the pen magnet trick. Just either pm me or just post up, Its greatly apprciated.

dont use any tool. just remove the pushrods. spin the cam over a few times and swap the cams. the magnet tool trick doesnt work it always leaves the magnet on a lifter.

I was reading that a lifter could possibly drop down cause it is only being held by friction, I would rather place it safe than sorry.

Yes it does. Cam #6 I have done, and worked perfect. You just have to be careful not to break the wood off in the block. Just take your time. I don't rush these jobs, and knock on wood, they come out perfect.
