6 speed with 3:73 would be perfect for a mile run with standing start, This reminds me of the Maxton mile near Fayetteville NC. they (ECTA) are using a old 2 mile runaway to do 1 mile timed speed runs. They have events just about every month. Just across the SC line about 20 miles off 95. This could be fun. What is the shut down length? any body know.

It takes an aero package and lots of HP to hit 200MPH. Hope they have a min of .8 shut down if your looking at going that fast

Just to give you a ideal of speeds to expect.

Cars are classed by Cube inch a C class is 306-372 CI a B class is 373-439CI

mile record for a gas real street C/GRS is 159.413 For B/GRS is 183.662

or Production coupe sedan /PRO a lot of Mustangs and Camaros for C/PRO is 179.498 and B/PRO is 183.674

You would need to be in the Blown Pro class to get near 200.00 with a production coupe

Lingenfelter's C5 went 200MPH on 500 HP, but it took 500ft-lbs of torque to do it, got to love a turbo!

Now the math. Using a corvette's aero drag force numbers it takes 240 HP to go 151.19, but to go 190 only 40 MPH more you need to double the HP to 480, so in theory yes, he should be able to get close to 190MPH

I have a chute and might do a pro mod wing if the back end sways too much. I have plenty of power to get there I just hope the track is long, straight, and clean. I also changed the brakes over to the big rotor bear package on all 4 so hopefully that will help out with the fluid boiling issue.

They have .9 shut down at Maxton and people are going way over 200 there with no problems. Does anyone know how much room we got to work with? May give them a call Wed and ask.

Hauling it down from that speed can be interesting if you got too much back brake bias, double check! Make sure you have a stiff side wall tire NO DRAG Radials.

Are you kidding me? Dude, I am gonna cry. Seriously. My car won't be done in time for this,...and this is what I am gearing my car for. (six speed,...2.73 gear...some power).

Seriously dissapointed right now. Well, we'll try and get one or two of the other cars there but, man,...I am dissapointed. Happy we have an event finally here,.....just now that it finally is,....I don't think I can be ready for it.

the airport runway is two miles long, you will have nearly a mile to slow down and turn back up return runway.
