Default any central fl people with HPT or EFILIVE please step in

im just finishing up my 02 ls1/t56 swap into a 89 vette, and i believe i was shipped a PCM from a automatic car. the motor starts and runs, but cuts back at 2000 rpm. im thinking this is torque management? anybody with either program have the time to come tune this out of the PCM so i can continue on with the project without buying the program(s) myself just for that since im sure i would not be able to safly tune it either.
im located in deltona, fl 32738, and im willing to pay you for your time and gas, just pm me, or post here.

mods are
02 ls1.
stock TB/intake/MAF/manifolds/rails/injectors/CI
no rear 02s/air pump/egr/vats
TSP MS3 (237/242 .603/.609 112lsa)

if you can get the tune close, even better, but im mostly just looking for somebody to take the torque management out.

I could do it but you would have to pony up the $100 for the credits to license your PCM. I doubt you'll find anyone that will do it for free unless you can find someone that has the 2002 model year unlocked

i have efilive, could do it for the same price plus some gas/time. unless im able to use one of my vins to reflash your vin, but most like have to unlock it. im in the ucf area.

What do you mean it cuts out at 2000 RPMS? Does the car shut off ? Did the motor do this before the install? Can the car be driven ? Is it a automatic or manual shift?

Does it do it both in gear and out of gear ?


My HPTuner's interface will work on All Gen III F and Y bodies so it wont cost you anything, but I want to know more before I concider helping the cause.

the motor does not die completly, but the tach will suddenly drop from 2k rpm to about 1400 and then back to 2000rpm, back to 1400 if you keep your foot in it. the car is manual, and does it both in and out of gear.
honestly man, tampa is a bit of a ride, but if your willing to help, i have no problem throwing you a few bucks.

you can run a auto pcm on a manual or vise versa and it shouldnt cut rpms at 2000 rpm......

tell me more then. after doing as much research as i could, the only thing i came across was somebody who did a ls swap to a older auto trans with no VSS, and they had the same issue. computer was going into something he referred to as "abuse mode" care to check out this topic and tell me where im wrong?

I did another kind of engine swap many years ago,needed a VSS to make it work and bought one that was cable driven,put it inline with cable and it worked.
I have now gone on to a totally electronic speedo so have that cable VSS left over.
