Default fuel pump install

Well I am donning a racetronix pump whit the there wire upgrade this weekend .I was wondering how far down do i have to drop the tank down before I cut the access panel in the back if the car.?

you dont have to drop the tank at all...thats the point of it. Its not as close as you think it is. I just used a cut off wheel and watched the depth

We use an air nibbler at the shop to avoid any problems...just be careful and take your time

Just did one a couple months back
I should have taken pics.
I made a flap(cut 3 sides) and folded it out of way.
I spot welded a tab on the 3 sides and screwed it on.
Now I can remove screws ,cut caulk and get in there again if I need to.
I cut a parts car up so I could see where to cut.
LMK if you need the measurements.
Look for ribs and the spot welds that attach them,go 3/4 inch inside.
Be real careful up front as all the lines and wires are up there.

You dont have to drop the tank, but rather be super careful not to cut the fuel lines or tank. I used a 90 deg cut off wheel but a air nibbler may be safer!!! I also went to the junk yard and cut out a panel out of another fbody slightly larger than the hole I cut so I could have a removable panel
