did i break my door latch assembly?

are you sure it just didnt latch shut? try prying it up/open while using the door handle. Sometimes they will just barely open, then when you shut the door it will push it shut, then you have to pry it open. Ive never had it happen on an fbody but I did have it happen on other vehicles.

unfortunately, the piece that spins around in the assembly is mauled to death. is it a simple swap? it looks like the 3 torx screws come out, and im assuming that ill have to take the door panel off and remove it from the inside out. any insight is greatly appreciated!
