NEW PROJECT: Active Aero High Rise Wing for the T/A
Well thanks to PewterM6SS, it looks like I have my RFC wing and hatch so we can now start the Active Aero development for the T/A.
My buddy, the same guy doing all my body work on my vert, has a working prototype for the 2010 Camaro, using a GTR wing (see vid below), but since he also owns a Bird, we've been talking and decided to do one for the Trans Am.
This road is just starting so it will be some time before a working prototype is available for show, but as you can see from the vid below, we're not blowing smoke!
If you are interested, please show your support and let us know. If there's no real interest then we'll make it for ourselves and be done with it.
Oh and a little tidbit for ya.... We're also designing a new retro tail lights for the T/A... Think 1967
Enjoy!

right now it's just in the wing prototype stage. IIRC... When I owned my 3000GT VR4, the Active Aero was governed by the speed-o, but I really don't remember; I know it would active when I hit 55mph. None the less, I;m sure it wont be an issue to figure out when we get to that stage. We could prob offer both.

I have a buddy that can program **** like this. As for the AA, I'm sure MSD or someone already has something on the market that we could expand on it intentional use, lol...
Years ago when the remote start first came out, all the carb guys wanted it, but there was nothing for them. So I took my NOS solenoids, my MSD 6al (I think that's what it was) and some other crap and made the first (as far as I know) remote start for the carb guys, lol... Worked like a charm and sold a few DIY instructions.

Im kinda on the fence about this but im sure you will find a way to suck me in once i see it on a ta.Are you trying to get the whole wing to rise or maybe section the center of the wing and have it rise up while the sides stay down?

The concave in the below profile pic is intentional, not my sloppy PS, lol... this is to allow it to seat back into the attached wingetts.

I don't want to get too deep into these right now since there's noting real to show, but here's a working sketch from PB.
BTW, my buddy and body guy I'm doing this with is also a member, he goes by PB -- https://ls1tech.com/forums/member.php?u=206284

just out of sake of curiosity, will you be completely making them, or making them from existing lights? I have seen a few early 4th gen base model birds with pure red tails, and it wouldn't be hard to take those and mask the design on them and paint over the undesired part of the lense. just a thought
