Arrow Orlando Peeps. chime in...

Sup guys, I'm going to Orlando for vacation in about a month. Specifically Longwood area for about 4-5 days. I'm from Texas so the beach is a must.

Need some ideas on what to do, restaurants (I enjoy hole in the wall places). ideas, anything.

Thanks!

Head towards Daytona! We usually do Fridays after work on the river in Sanford at Gators Riverside Grill. In Port Orange, the Deck Down Under or Crabby Joes on the beach. Just a couple local spots with good food and views. More details on the trip :-)

you've gotta stop at 4 rivers while you're in longwood. It's on 434 right by I-4. Some of the best BBQ in town. Lots of good food out by the beach, too!

I live in Longwood. Its kind of a weird place to come specifically in Florida to vacation unless you have family here. New Smyrna Beach is the closest beach and it IMO is a lot better than Daytona, but I understand the appeal of Daytona since it is famous and has shopping and such. You absolutely have to go to Old Town in Kissimmee, FL for saturday car show (it is excellent) plus they have vintage style shops and places to eat for the ladies. The cars roll down the brick street for you to watch at I think 8:30. It is about a 45 min drive. If you have women with you who want to shop you can check out the Altamonte Mall which is decent and has a movie theater attached (movies before 12 in the afternoon are $6) after that they are like $10 something. I know you guys have Winghouse, we do too lol. I'm just naming stuff besides your typical Disney, Islands of Adventure, ect... If you like roller coasters I suggest making the drive to Tampa and going to Busch Gardens, plu you can hit the Hard Rock Casino on the way home if you want.

If you like German food I highly suggest a place called the Hollerbach's Willowtree Cafe. Place is amazing and even has Das Boots (like the ones they have in the movie beerfest). It is in historic downtown Sanford so the surrounding is cool to. If you go on a friday or weekend then call ahead and try and make a reservation it gets busy. I put a link below for a place called Haberneros, its Mexican food, really good, and there is one in Longwood. The service is normally subpar, but the food is great. There is a good pizza place called Broadway Pizzeria about 2 mins from where I live, pizza is great but everything else sucks. Go to the Altamonte Springs location which is basically in Longwood. If you have kids and want to take them somewhere cool on the cheap try Rock Springs (Kelly park) in Apopka which is nearby. Cold spring fed park with small rapids to swim down, ect.. very cool. Make sure you go to rock springs as opposed to Wekiva Springs Park which is lame. I have more but I have to go, don't hesitate to ask me about stuff. I've lived in the Orlando, Longwood area my entire life.

Black Hammock is a hole in the wall, but has a nice tiki bar by the river with alligator's. Also serves some awesome alligator tail. Thai house on Tuscawilla and Red Bug (Winter Springs) has some great dishes.
