Default Corvette Camaro GTO GM Truck performance tuning in Tampa

Thank you for all the congrats PMs. For those of you that have inquired about me fixing your current tune from another tuner and repairing your low end driving ability, and poor transmission shift issues, Iím here to fix those tuning problems. Ive heard and read about the horror stories about tuners rushing through tunes, mostly cutting and pasting tunes into your configuration with a couple WOT pulls and say your car is tuned. Well that doesnít happen with Tampa Tuning. We actually calibrate your car. Crazy concept lol

WOT is easy to tune, but if your low end is a mess, Id be concerned about your high RPM tune.

I've already spoken with you, I have some issue's I needed squared away, however, through the next few months, I'm going to be compiling some ported 243 heads, a cam, and a stall. I figure I will wait to meet you then. I'd love to test your tuning out against the other tuner I used, but I'll just wait. Have any idea what cam/head install would be? I have a local trans shop, that would do the stall for $250, but if powertech can come fairly close to that, I will use them for that as well. Phil, I would also love to talk to you about cam choices as well.

Default Transmission Tuning

Phil, ............ do you guys do tranny tuning? I'm switching from a 4L60E to a 4L80E in a 2002 camaro and will need it tuned so it shifts right. It will be a few weeks before this is done but I need to know where to take it for the tranny tune when it's finished.

Thumbs up

Thank you again Phil and Ian. They were able to fix my throttle cable, identify a low rpm spark issue, and do a tune even with my exhaust causing problems. They definately went the extra mile for me! Feels much smoother, more powerful and I can now enjoy the full benefits of bolt-ons. I'll let ya' know when the y pipe rattle gets fixed and 4.11's get installed.

Thanks, Tripp

Tampa Tuning works harder so you dont have to and enjoy improving your performance.

Tripp, we're happy to have your business, and glad to upgrade your tune as your performance level grows.

Going the extra yard is the differance between Tampa Tuning and other local tuners.

I’m getting A LOT of inquiries about fixing other tuners tunes. Most of the time when i do this, I see fuel dumped on timing to drown problems, then I see fuel trims so out of whack, the vehicle is getting garbage for MPG. Rarely do I see injectors scaled correctly and that amazes me because at the injectors is where the tune should start.

These are all major factors into how your vehicles will performance. Sometimes I can fix a tuning issue, and other times because the strategies are just so far off, I just have to scrap the old tune and calibrate a new system rather than try to patch someone’s copy and paste jobs.
So when the question comes up why does it take 2-4 hours to tune the vehicles, well its because I like to do it right the first time.

Man your tune was so hacked up, I thought my scanner was wrong. I think you peeked at 10.5 on an NA motor lol. I dont know how local tuners can street cars like that and take money for it.

Im glad to have made the car run better and thanks for the kudos. After you get done with the tour, lets get that sucker on the dyno.

I remember looking at Ryan's car one time in a parking lot real quick on one of my trips trying to help him out. Had to be maybe a year or more ago possibly. It was a mess and I was going to pretty much go back to stock and start from scratch to do it right. I made a couple small changes to help, but.....

Good to hear got she is behaving now after all this time.

Mike how have you been!

We had to over come the "drilled a hole in the throttle blade trick" and work a tune around that lol

Staying busy for sure and will actually be in FL next week from Tuesday till Friday. I think I have about 14 or 15 cars to do while I am there.

I can work around the hole in the TB blade for the most part, but it is the MAF and VE tables that tend to get so screwed up or never messed with at all that drive me crazy.

Talk to you soon.

Phil,
Thanks a million for helping me out on such short notice!

I shipped my H/C/I C5 from Salt Lake City, Utah to Tampa last week, and because of the elevation change the car didn't want to idle. Not knowing any tuners in the area I did a search for tuners that were recommended around here and that brought me to Phil.

Phil not only sorted out my idle issues, he cleaned up my existing tune and the car runs better than ever AND, he was great to deal with. I've dealt with a lot of tuners in my day, and Phil ranks among the best.

Highly recommended.

Smile Thank You!!

Phil,

Thank you so much for transforming my '08 Z51 Vette this past Saturday into the high performance car it currently is.
I'm very pleased with the results of the tune; it definitely was money well spent. The car now is crazy fast and I'm still surprised at how well it shifts; I love how it sounds with the headers, x pipe, 3in. exhaust, CAI and the tune.
You are a true knowledgeable professional, you took the time to do it right the first time; you kept my wife and I informed of the results or each change you made thruout the tuning process.
I'm definitely recommending you to all my friends in the Tampa Bay Vettes club.
I'm a happy customer.
Pablo.
