Default Deployed Soldier looking for Help in Orlando

Guys I am deployed in Afghanistan and my wife and I are stationed in Germany. My wife just flew back home to Orlando. Our 97 SS is there which she was planning to drive. The car hasn't had but maybe 1000 miles on it since 2004. Currently has 70K miles. My wife went to Register the car today since it has been sitting. She did, got the temp tags on it and was driving it back to the Tags office to get the VIN checked when she said it sounded like something under the car blew up.

Her dad owns a couple boats and is somewhat mechanically inclined. He came out to pick her up and asked her to try to start it. He told her to tell me it sounds as if it loss compression or dropped a cylinder. $hit!

Would anyone here with LT1 knowledge be willing to help a nearly 10 year member of this board out by taking a look at it for me? I have 7 more months on my deployment. The car is being towed to my brothers car audio shop near downtown. Thanks,

It means a lot.

Robert, first and foremost, thank you for your service. I am creeping on 14 years now..think I'll make it a career I appreciate the offer brother but Jacksonville would run me a few hundred bucks for the tow. If all else fails, I will happily give you a call. Thanks again.

Guys, it is located at my brothers Car Audio shop, Next Level Car Audio located at 87 W. Michigan Ave. Orlando, Florida 32806

It is near downtown close to Orange Ave.

From my wifes description of the event, I am thinking it was a timing chain failure. A new OPTI was installed a month ago, so I can't rule out the possibility that it detonated. But my Father-in-law said it sounds like it lost compression. That is classic timing chain failure and my wife said it banged and then sounded like something was "dragging". My fear is bent valves if that is the case.

If one of you can get there, please respond here or PM and i'll give you my wifes Phone #. I will owe you one.

Sorry for not updating this post. The Engine dropped a Rod and was pulled. The Engine is currently being rebuilt. Should have it up and running again in no-time. Thank you for your support.
