Open Comp & Quick 8 street race at Gainesville Raceway July 15th!
Next Open Comp and Quick 8 street race at Gainesville Raceway is July 15th.
Check out these links for more information:
Gainesville Raceway website information on open comp and quick 8 rules and such: http://www.gainesvilleraceway.com/a...=2535&zoneid=69
My original thread on it:
https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=484173
The last 2 races have turned out like this:
Race #1 in April:
The winner of Quick 8 (5 cars entered, so all qualified) took home $100 and a trophy for 3 rounds of work.
Open Comp saw 23 cars enter, so the winner took home $230 and a J.W. Transmission gift certificate!
Race #2 in May:
The winner of Quick 8 (3 cars entered, so all qualified) took home $100 and a trophy for 3 rounds of work.
Open Comp saw 19 cars enter, so the winner took home $190 and a J.W. Transmission gift certificate!
Was a nice payday for me!
Come out, and show us how fast your "street car" is! My slow 11 second Nova will make its way again, and hopefully I'll qualify. It's a great time for those liking the heads-up pro-tree racing, and there's test and tune that night as well. So even if you lose early, there's still runs to be made!

Caveman,
Hope to see one of your rides one day, but I know how racing schedules conflict all the time!
Jeff made it once this year during the Power Tour, so hopefully he'll come visit again sometime.
Super Chevy in October is always a great date (no conflicting races I believe).

I had posted on Jaxracing.com to Smiley about running my silver Formula at Gville in the NoLip Street class on Fri July 29 but she never got back to me, maybe I`ll just drive up there and see if they let me run.

I hope to run the no lip race this year but it always falls opposite a bad weekend for me. Heard it's a blast. I'm thinking about running the daily driver/street dot class.
Good luck racing!
