was it auto or manual... if stick it should have 3.42's if it were auto it either has 2.73's or 3.42's..... and there is no need to open it up, you can find out the gears by counting the revolutions... if you dont know how to just search...but i am deff in need of a rear so if you could get back to me that would be great

Acturally it would either have 2.73's or 3.23's. The 3.42's were only in M6 cars stock. The A4 vette had a 3.15 rear but it was also IRS.
Your probally already knew this and just typed it wrong.
