Review: EFI Alchemy
Ive had some bad experience with several shops that knew how to "tune" so i was a bit skeptical when i heard about EFI Alchemy. I had heard about some guy named Doc that tuned Ls1's when i first got the blower on but was a bit skeptical so i ended up going somewhere else.
A year, a blown piston, and two "tunes" latter i decided to give Doc and EFI Alchemy a try. I did my homework on them and tried to find out if anyone was disappointed with them, couldnt find a thing. So i gave Doc a call. He is both professional and extremely knowledgable about all things LS1. He is not the sales man type, he is a just a car guy.
So i dropped off my pride and joy with them and had them fix a few problems and tune it. They did an excellant job. While they were working on it, Doc would call, sometimes twice a day, to give me updates on the progress. They simply do amazing work. The car no longer dies at stop lights, it is much faster, and more importantly, safer running. To all of the EFI Alchemy crew, Doc, Rick, Mark and Rob, Thanks for all your help.

I've seen these guys work on plenty of cars, and never once have they ever taken a shorcut. Nothing but quality work from those guys!

EFI will be doing all work to my car once I can finally just let them have it, I keep putting it off and putting it off, but they will be the only ones that touch my car, when I finally can get it to them.

I was sold after talking to the guys at a couple of the gatherings they have. When someone tells me they will keep the car until the tune is right, I know they will do quality work. Im not going to say who tuned my SS, it was someone here in Jax... Thank goodness we finally have an LSX shop here.

old thread, but they are still kicking.
took my car down there, my opinion:
-they were intelligent on the phone (understood the "VATS non start ordeal")
-quoted me instant prices for a VATS fix & a tune
-told me how to fix it (which I had read on the innerweb, but his in-depth knowledge re-assured me)
-shop was CLEAN.
-shop was organized.
-tools were modern & up to date.
-he offered to do the oil change & fuel filter for me, since I had not been able to drive it up onto ramps (it's too low for a jack to fit under)
-he understood that i wanted fresh oil in my motor for the dyno
-other happy customers came by during the day, indicating they do good & work
since he has had the car: he has called me, updated me, and requested permission to order extra parts, and sent me emails with receipts for the parts he purchased on my behalf.
