So my wife and i have been talking lately about seriosuly moving down to the Miami area. She has A TON of family there.

My questions are:

How is the job markets down there right now? Meaning what kind of work is open? My wife is an optician, she has been in that field now for 10 yrs. As for my self, well, i have done it all.. Inside Sales, Marketing, Office Manager..... So what jobs are hot down there?

Next, is living, where are some good areas to live in down there? Prolly would like to have a house... Maybe need to rent something jsut to get going then look for a house.

C'mon down! The home market right now is "ok" I live in south Miami-Dade county, but alot of people are moving up to the Broward county communities.
If you move down bring the duals you were selling (if still have them)

Feel free to browse the local F-body forum... www.sffba.net

I know a friend that lives down there, tells me he is broke cause his rent is $950/mo.
I laughed, told him that would get him a three bedroom house with a pool up here where I'm at. Sounds like a expensive place down there.

Right now where i live, i pay $965 including all utilities.. The only 1 i pay is electric. I live in a 2 bedroom, 1 1/2 bath 950 sq ft apartment.

I want a house and want a pool..

most importantly, I NEVER WANT TO SEE OR DEAL WITH SNOW AGAIN!!!

Hope you're bilingual. Lived down there for 12 years and finally got tired of hearing spanish everywhere I went. Good luck.

If you're looking to move to Miami and get into a house with a pool, bring your checkbook. Expect to drop $2500/mo on such a rental. Even then you might find yourself in the middle of Hialeah. You'll see what I mean when you get there. Try a search on realtor.com/rentals

Remember, they practically stopped building single family homes in Miami 25 years ago. Nearly everything new since has gone vertical. Roach condos. And plenty of dickwads to fill them.

All I'm gonna say is Miami is a love-it or hate-it place. Personally, I love it, that's why i moved back down here. It's pretty interesting to be in but like mentioned before me it isn't cheap by any means. Hope to see you down here! It's an awesome place to live!

What the heck are you talking about? Guess you have not been to Dade in 25 years then.
