small frame 76mm turbos...
looking at building up my car to run in a local class that limits turbo cars to the following:
(Turbo Specifications)
1. Maximum size of 76MM Small Frame.(T4 flange) Boost Controllers Permitted
2. Forward facing Turbo prohibited. Turbo inlet air source must originate from within the engine bay
that's it. I'm not totally sure how they are measuring the 76mm yet...will find out. maybe able to run a necked down turbo.
the big players in the class are the nitrous cars...here are there rules.
(Nitrous Specifications)
1. Single Stage/Plate system only with a maximum of one nitrous, one fuel, and one purge solenoid. Each solenoid is permitted a single orifice. Plate systems limited to 1 nitrous spray bar and one fuel spray bar, purge must exit engine compartment. Plate must not be permanent part of the intake or use fogger nozzles.
2. Progressive systems permitted and are allowed one additional solenoid for progressive operation only, must be inline. EFI systems are required to use a single nitrous nozzle which injects nitrous oxide into the engine prior to the throttle blade.
3. Fogger Systems or (2) Stage NOS Prohibited. These systems must be removed or disconnected/capped prior to and during the race. Failure to do so will result in DQ.
minimum weight
2. SB Nitrous, Turbo, or Blower stock valve angle: 3000 and non stock valve angle : 3100
Tires allowed are 275/60/15 MT's radials.
or 28 x11.50 LT (ET Streets) 100lb penalty.
okay now sorry for that long winded background most of the cars are running in the 5.40-5.70 range in the 1/8th
is a GT47 up to that task @ 3250 race weight? what cubes would be optimal for this setup? wanting to stay aluminum block, was thinking 364/366 cube. there are no turbo cars in the field...yet just wondering if I can hang.

to run those times u need to be around 1000 hp at that race weight and thats theoretical perfect conditions.u def are going to want to be right at minimum weight and leave off a pretty good amount of boost off the trans brake, still might be a challenge to run that with a 76mm turbo

I am actually interested in building a car I have for this class also. I've been to about 8 of there races and there has only been one turbo car. An orange 80s camaro, I've only seen it run 5.7s. which depending on the night is semi-competitive in the class. Most peoples argument, including mine is they should at least change the rules to allow a T6 sized 76mm. I was just worried about bigger cubes getting choked by the t4. The fastest car in the class is around a 5.4.
Here's a thread with a little of the controversy. http://www.mafia-motorsports.com/for...et_racers.html

Yes we can....give us a call. Custom turbos are sometimes hard to spec, but to get the times your wanting, you will have to ring the **** out of it....lol.
