Default Worth it to ceramic coat exhaust housing?

I was thinking about sending the crappy looking exhaust housing off to get high temp coated. What do you guys think? Is it worth it? Or should I just get the T6 turbo blanket? I was thinking mostly for aesthetic reasons, but I am sure it would improve the thermal efficiency of the turbo.

i like the coated turbine housings, did the ones on my car,it does a the spool slightly, there is just one v band clamp that hold the turbing housing to the bearing housing on the gt4788,just loosen it up and the housing will slide right off

You can see mine. I did it partly for looks, and partly to help with spool up. The more heat you can keep in the turbo the quicker it will spool up. I also did the exhuast manifolds.

Im considering throwing a turbo blanket over it also.

Im pretty sure your turbo is similiar to mine. But as said, its a 11 mm nut on the vband. Pop that off, the exhaust housing will pop right off. You can do the same thing to the charge side, i had mine powder coated black since its alum, and cant be done in ceramic.

I wanted the center section painted somehow, but i was told if taken apart, it all has to go back to pte to get rebalanced, and might get costly. So i left it how it was.

I like the aluminum finish on the compressor side,
I was thinking of having the turbine side in a nice shiny silver ceramic, who should I send it too, I had Jet Hot headers on the LT4, and they rusted after a year, I used HTC years ago, and the finish was a bit dull. Any suggestions and prices?

performance coating in Auburn WA does a great job and has quick turn around. If you google them they have a website with prices and products.

When i had my motorcylce i used jet hot. I really thought they were great, for header and pipe in flat black.

My turbo stuff was done by a local guys thats not a sponser. I dont know if you would want to ship your stuff out here, but i can get you in contact with someone if you want.

What about fx coatings? they were a sponser, but i tried to go to there website, and its gone? i know frcfed98 used them.

Ps the guy that did my ceramic, also did my powder.

Coating looks good and does reduce temps, but nowhere near as much as a beanie. I've had both and prefer the beanie
