Turbo Opinion from Yall
I'm about to begin the second stage of my car's project. What would you all suggest for a stock-internal LS-6, with LS-1 heads. Let me give yall the specs on the car now. It ran a 12.4 at 111mph on the motor and an 11.5 at 125 mph on nos (bottle pressure was 720psi). I'm tired of nos, so i sold the kit the next day. The car has Moser 12-bolt, w/ 3.73 gears, tranny built by T-56 rebuilds, 1 7/8 hedders, y-pipe and tuned by Thunder Racing, dynoed 390rwhp on the motor. I'm looking to have more racing from a roll than at the track. I'm also curious how much hp can be gained and ran safely with the setup I just described to yall. Also, let me know if yall know someone that's selling a turbo kit, however, i'd rather purchase from a dealer. Thanks guys!!!

My goal is to suprise these upcoming "exotic" cars on the interstate and smoke em from a roll. I was hoping for around 550 to 600 rwhp with the setup i have now. I also read where there are stock blocks with all stock internals (stepped up cam, of course) laying down 600 to 650 rwhp with a turbo. That's my goals.

600-650rwhp and longevity I don't believe go hand in hand. Too much risk, and too hard on stock components, just a momentary lean condition, and the thing grenades. I honestly believe you can build a reliable "street car" in the 500-550rwhp range. Add a set of #317's to knock down the compression a tad, and run it. If you want to get greedy, add a little meth, that'll get you where you want to be.

Thank yall!!! I'm learning plenty. Your suggestions are greatly appreciated and i'm taking it all in. How long does the an average front mounted turbo kit last for an f-body?

If it's set up correctly, it'll last longer than the engine! *wink* Get a pressure regulation system setup on the feed so you don't blow oil past the seals, and make sure you keep fresh oil lubricating that bad boy. As long as you don't back spin it, or constantly overspin (surge) it, you'll be golden!

For what its worth, for the install, i have someone that can install with no problem. Do yall have any suggestions for tuning within about a 300 mile radius of Baton Rouge, besides Thunder Racing (not saying anything negative about them)?
