Default Conpression of 347

I am looking to do a procharger D1SC kit and run about 14lbs of boost. I want to build a forged bottom end with stock crank. I will run a boost cam with stock heads for the time being with stock gasket.

I am looking at the Wiseco -11cc piston and Scat H beam Rods 6.125,

I am curious how much my compression will be and should I go with the 3.903 Bore or 4.000. I just trying to figure this stuff out and the best prices as well. I am going to have the block done by a local machine shop. My goal is about 600 rwhp so I want to build it strong. Any advice is welcomed. Thanks

Great I spelled CoMpression wrong in the heading lol

600 rwhp on a forged 346/347 at 14 psi is def doable. The dished piston will obviously lower your stock compression, however someone else will have to chime in as im not sure how to calculate it off of the piston dish but id say you would want to be in the 9.0-9.5:1 range. Texas-Speed has some great prices on the components listed above. I have heard both positive and negative reviews on the SCAT rods. Another option would be eagle rods, which have a better overall review from what ive seen. The wiseco pistons should do the trick as well. Do you already have the D1SC kit? If not def contact Bob at EPP.

9:5.1 Compresstion with 14psi the car will be over 650rwhp even with stock headswith right boltons and cam.
after that hget yourself a nice thick heads and add more boost.

Bigger bore = more power at the engine, I like the idea of using an LS2 block with a stock crank, you could build a 9-10:1 364ci. should easily hit 600rwhp on CA 91 pump.

A stock cube/bore motor with a forged rod and piston is all you need. Your compression ratio will be determined by your choice of piston and the cc's of your heads. If your goal is only 600 rwhp you won't need 14 psi to get there on a properly set up of combo. I would recommend a compression ratio of 9:8-10:1 with a mild blower cam. An excellent source for FI components is A&A corvettes. They usually have shortblocks built and ready to go at very good prices. If your current motor is running and is in good shape you might be better off selling it and buying a built motor ready to go. This will offset the costs and your downtime will be to a minimum!

I would run 9.5:1 with that setup on 91. You'll be able to run more boost safely with a lot of timing without risking detonation. You could run 10+:1 if you were running meth, but 91 octane crap CA fuel sucks, and I would rather add more timing then get greedy with the compression and have to back it off.

from what you listed, looks like you will be around 9.1 CR with piston to deck at zero. If piston is different, you will have to calculate that in. you can adjust a little with head gasket thickness depending on piston to deck.
