Default 2 step on t56 logged data

Tonight we did alittle sd tuning and testing.

The car is a 98 c5 t56. 347, 8.5 to 1, z06 cam, twin rear mounted gn turbos. It dynoed (mustang) previously at 588 /582 at 12 psi. Tonight I saw as much as 17, but it was averaging 12-14.

All tuning is 91 octane with water meth. AIT starts at 66 degrees, drops to 55 then climbs slowly. I think Ill try alittle more on the controller, but didnt have small enough screw driver with me to make a change. Meth starts at 4/4.5 psi.

Most tuning was to bring boost in faster, and we saw 5 psi before 3000 rpm on the hyway in part throttle acceleration. Boost starts at about 2200-2400.

If you down shift and hammer it , its immediate.

2 step , tests..........

3900 pulling 15 degrees of timing on rate setting 8 (.2 sec, fastest rate) it would build about 2-4 psi.

Raised it to 4900.......and it built 15.04 psi(hp pro cable) on the log in 2.02 seconds, from no throttle to full throttle.
Power shifting results in 10 + psi clucth engagments that turn the car sideways, and smokes the tires at anything under 70 mph. Doing 50-70 mph roll ons, then going on the 2 step, just watch the gauge till you get to 6-8 [psi and release and hold on.....its violent, and takes about 1 second.

On a side note, if you get caught going too fast , some police apparently dont even bother. He looked, put on his signal, then never even turned around. Maybe I wasnt speeding....

2 steps.....are fun. cheap 700 hp cars with 6 speeds are fun too.

GOOD info...... im really considering getting one of these for the track.

which unit do you have?

so you are saying, sitting still, with the two step on, you built 2-4psi in .2seconds, and 15psi in 2.02 seconds with the setups mentioned? is what im saying correct? i haven't seen results like that yet.

does it feel like you're putting a beating on the drivetrain?

The 2-4 psi on the 3900 rpm 15 degree retard was about 2 seconds also. I d have to look at the log. I was most impressed witrh the 15.04 psi in 2.02 secs. It doesnt matter if your sitting still or coasting.....its just clutch in......anytime.

Is it hard on the drivetraiin.....well yes, but so is try to get any 3300 lb car going with 600 + hp. I think its actually easier on the car with the 2 step then with out. You get consistent leaves, the ability to tune your leave conditions, and dont have to kill it to get the power out. With out the 2 step its hard to make any boost on the line so you really have to work it hard. Even a 4 psi leave is good, compared to 0 then building boost as you go through 1st gear.

Drivetrain, well 1.5 60's are harder then 1.7 60's, but then again a tire hopping 2.0 will kill a rear, compared to a 1.55 hooked leave on a soft tire. In the end, what are ya gonna do? Try to go faster.....

oh its the newer lngenfelter unit with retard.

awesome. i just made up my mind to get one........ thanks for posting...

i built my 3rd setup over last winter... really like this one, it's a keeper... but i haven't gone to the track since my hi-flo. had ONE "decent" night with a turbo setup at the track when i ran 10.9 at 141 ....COULD YOU TELL I HAD AN ISSUE..... 90% of the time it was just frustrating so i stopped going.

this year my car caught on fire, so while im repairing it this winter, i DEFINITELY plan on making use of the track this year, but i REFUSE TO PUT AN AUTO IN IT. it is still my summer toy and i hate auto..... just want to get it set up at the track and get away from the street racing

anyways, this give me more hope, thanks
