Default My stock LS6 is getting Supercharged, help?

My stock C5 Z06 is getting supercharged (ECS SC600 Kit).......I am stuck on ONE mod issue.

Should I do 1 3/4th headers or 1 7/8th headers since I am going FI?

I know to search the forums but I have and I can not get a straight answer on the FI part. I know 1 3/4th is perfect for a 346ci, and 1 7/8th is OVERKILL for a H/C 346ci, but is it overkill for a FI 346ci?

Thanks

Yea, I am thinking 1 7/8ths but would still like some more input, I heard that 1 7/8ths are still too big for a 346ci even with FI?

i had sent emails to ECS and ARH about this. i also plan on adding a ECS 600 to my 02 z06 and both vendors recommended that i go with the 1 7/8" kit.

With a 346 you could go with either header diameter with forced induction, and you'd make good power. If you think there is a possibility that you may be wanting even more power down the road, I'd go with the 1-7/8 headers. Bob

just spoke to chris at ecs. he told me to stick with the 1 3/4" kit as long as i stay with the 346 ci motor. If you go 400+ci use the 1 7/8" kit.

I have a blown LS1 (d1sc) 02 ss with stock heads, intake and bottom end running kooks 1 7/8". Only other upgrades are to the fuel system and the rest of the exhaust and I am pushing over 550 rwhp.

After driving this set-up for about a year, I am getting ready to upgrade to a LS3 or a 408 - if I would have bought the 1 3/4" I would have to buy new headders.

I would listen to Bob on this one, go with the larger set-up and you will have room to grow and not have to buy headders twice..

bigger is usually better, especially in this case. Go with the 1 7/8th headers, they will flow more and make more power period.

I am running 1 7/8 kooks on my forged 346. Exhaust flow is very important on a boosted motor. All that air you are cramming in the cylinders needs to get out of there fast.
