Default What rods are the big power big boost guys running?

Hey guys, wondering what connecting rods the big power big boost buys are running? Im buliding a 427" bowtie block LSX, curious what kind of rods you guys are using in the 2000hp range? I ordered a Callies Dragonslayer crank and am going to have it nitrided. Just curious what rods are being used with good results. TIA for any input!

First step you might want to upgrade to the Callies Magnum XL crank for that kind of power and Dyers rods are a rod that will last in that kind of horsepower build.

I doubt I will push it there but just wanted it to be strong enough to not have to worry. Is the magnum XL worth the extra cash? They are close to 3K vaesus 1300 for the dragonslayer!

The magnum has better machining done too it plus it is lighter and has better oil control which means more power. If you don't plan on doing a 1500 hp build then you dont need it. The Dragonslayer will work just fine for a 1000 hp build.

We are using MGP rods for the build in the link below. For 2000 hp you're going to need to spend some serious money for rods. Bob

The dragon slayer comes nitrided.....and is just fine for 1500hp plus. Go with some billet steel oliver rods or grp alum. rods...
