Winter Fun !! Turbo Turbo Turbo
I know you have all seen me run 9s with the six speed. I know everyone has seen my custom twin turbo kit. I know you have all seen my sick custom side pipes ... So I figured its winter time, lets keep the pictures rolling to entertain the forum in the off season.
C5 Twin Turbo Turbo 400 To much turbo's in my sig. The boys over at RPM rapped me up a cool christmas package. TJ has been lots of help and I believe he has a couple more goodies on the way soon.
What we have here is my new built Turbo400 trans with adapter plates & my new ZR1 Diff which includes Cryo treated micro polished gears, heavy duty clutch packs and springs, and custom Drive Shaft Shop 300m chrome molly output shafts. Lets take a lookie ...

The car broke the beam early on my 9.9 pass and I missed 4th gear when I got a good short with the car. I was just happy to run nines with the six speed since you could only count the people on one hand who have accomplished that with a six speed in a C5/C6.
I have the power to take down the six speed record, and I am sure we could have done it but at what cost ? I don't want to spend 10K each year on driveline parts. Not to mention the labour to pull the whole thing out.

Basically I pulled the six speed parts out of the car intact while they are still worth somthing. If you put down over 1000rwhp and 1000lb/tq its like rolling the dice every time you launch the car or shift to hard. I got a deal I couldn't refuse on the tranny conversion kit, so It was time to make a change.

So you gave up!!! Just kidding....I would like to smack down an 8 next year with an m6.....I should make 1300rwhp in 09, but im already nervous everytime I shift.....I think I might get one of the new Mcloed bell housings....ever thought about a powerglide?

It would seem that pricing is all over the map in the for sale section. I don't know much about the turbo400 yet.
From what some local friends tell me, it wouldn't make for the best car for the street.
Plus the 4L80 is much bigger and you would have to cut up the body pretty good. I do know a fellow corvette guy who has accomplished the conversion with success. I believe RPM transmissions could help you.

A power glide is better then a 400....it tends to spin tire less....and with your weight and power its a better match....the 400 will work fine though..just more suited to cars with less power....
