Default Warhawk dropped sleeves

Warhawk block, Allpros with 3.3L Whipple running 14lbs.
Engine was down on power & leaking oil.
Pulled one head to find all sleeves had dropped - 2 a bit & 2 alot.
I didn't hang around to see the second head pulled.

So do I just re-deck the block or do the sleeves need fastening somehow to prevent them from dropping further?

I'd obviously like to do this once.

Yes we had the same problem. We felt the liners would not drop anymore than what they already had in our block so Dustin just decked the block. Bob

There has been a lot of talk about these issues in the private sponsor section, along with what the responses were from the guys at World. Bob

if i were in the market for a big cubic inch i think from what i have heard about the warhawk i would be looking at the lsx block instead.Plus the fact the lsx is half the price of the warhawk block. The only draw back i see with the lsx is the weight compared to the warhawk.

We will have to see how well the RHS block does vs. the well prepped stock aluminum blocks.

I personally believe the problem was due to poor installation at the time. Warhawk has since corrected the problem. We had a custom sleve puller made just to check before the block was assembled. If you contact World, I am sure they will cover the repair of the block it self.

I didn't know RHS was going to start building their own blocks. Where can I get some info on that?

Is this not the case on the other side of the pond?

No real damage here.
Worst sleeve drop is 16 thou', most 3 to 5 thou.
Engine was pumping oil onto the exhaust manifold at the worst sleeve I'm guessing because the head gasket was unable to seal on that sleeve.

So who's managed to extract compensation from World?

ok, i dont know what you mean by 16 thou (sorry), but if there is no real permanent damage, then is there a permanent solution perhaps?

What does re-decking the block involve?

Again sorry im not good at this.

Seems like they should cover everything, as in provide a new sleeved block, considering this is the equivelant of a manufacturer recall.

Was your block torque plate honed? I assume it was? but some people do buy prepped blocks. Some have seen the sleeves drop even just by installing torque plate.

Yes it was torque plate honed.
I've emailed World asking if there is a permanent solution, but I've yet to get a response.
I'll keep you posted...

Did you press the sleeves with a shop press before honing or decking the block ?
Please post what world has to say.
