Default Low oil psi.

Anyone here ever have a oil pressure problem with a rear mount turbo? I have a buddy who has one on a 2500HD (05) 6.0 and says it is around 20psi and drops to where the oil light comes on. I was thinking maybe the o-ring on the pick up tube. Or is there a restrictor in the line for the oil feed to the turbo? Or the return?

There is something wrong with the motor or the gauge isn't working correctly.

As far as I was told It dont make any strange sounds, stock engine with a rear mount turbo at 5 lbs of boost. Oil pressure drops and sets of warning light. Engine has low miles. But that really dont mean much. I was wondering if a restrictor is used in the feed line to help with pressure? I had asked him to get me as much info so I could better pin point the problem. I think its an STS kit. Well I will soon find out as soon as I get time off and home. Thank for any info.

I would check it with a manual gauge before I condemn anything. Clusters and oil pressure sensors have both been known to lie.

does he loose oil ? if he does check the oil feed line for the turbo, might be leaking somewhere.
