Default 4 inch stroker crank vs stock crank...FI application pros and cons???

Im boosting my stock aluminum 346...bare blocked it and found out i spun a rod bearing....so im wondering what i should do? I plan on 600-800rwhp with my setup. should i buy a stock crank and have it polished or just say **** it get the 4 inch and stroke it out to a 383? the engine is getting arp fasteners, forged rods, forged pistons, rings, h beam bearing etc...also wondering what a safe rwhp number is for my stock aluminum block? all input is greatly appreciated

keep in mind i want this to be very reliable and hope in only doing it one time

you will run in to head lifting issues at around 950whp, before the block goes. and if you have the money go with the stroker crank, it will help you make more power on less psi. good luck

cant beat having a big ARM. spools faster has more bottom end when used with lower compresion. on a street car it is a big help. just my 2 cents

Budget motor build use a stock crank, h-beam rods and forged pistons.
That will hold you for 1000hp.

Is that when it let go or did they run at that power level for a while?

I think they ran it for awhile. I don't believe they ever broke the crank either?

382 here. Love the exta power. Pin the mains and there will be no problems. Altho, stock cranks will go over 1000HP.
