Default Quick question about Procharger

Is it possible to run Procharger (D1 or P1) on a stock buttom end motor with 11.2:1 CR? The motor has 104k miles on it. The mod is ported 5.3L head with 224R cam, full bolt on and exhaust.

Yes it is, I'd add methanol injection to it to help drop the inlet air temps. The LS2 engines are at 10.9/1 and we run them at 8 psi of boost without any problems at all. As far as the miles go, I wouldn't expect you to have any problems. We installed a ProCharger D-1SC on my Camaro when it had 110,000 miles on it, at 125,000 we bumped the boost up to 15 psi to see how long it would last (we were bored)... Here is a video of it. http://lsx.streetfire.net/video/89b2...a4011bec07.htm Bob

So with the listed mod and a P1SC, around how many whp I should expect?

Out of curious, how long did your Camaro motor last with 15psi? Are you using the standard twin cooler or the FMIC?

You'll probably see an overall increase of 140 to 150 rwhp with 8 psi of boost.
We got about 1,000 mils out of it at 15 psi. That was with the older twin 3.5" intercoolers. Here is a link to the car after it as resurrected. http://www.exoticperformanceplus.com...Car.php?car=12 Bob

So basically if I don't go over say 10-12 psi and add methanol injection, I should be safe for a while, right?

8 psi is all I recommend as how psi may result in your engine needing rebuilt sooner than you can really afford to do so. Methanol injection is a good way to go as it will drop the inlet air temps by 35 to 40 degrees at wide open throttle, which greatly increases horsepower. Bob

Why not just sell your 5.3L heads and get some 6.0L heads and go about it that way? That will put the CR in a way safer boost friendly zone...

How much would that drop the CR to on a stock block?

What's the average RWHP on 8 lbs of boost, on a stock block, either STS or procharger? Thanks

Are you serious??? Same way he was able to raise the CR on a stock bottom end with the heads he has on there now. The combustion chamber volume of the head.

No, sorry, I was joking...

ok, the 6.0 heads take the stock CR from whatever a stock LS1 is, say 10.5, to___ ??

Drops it to 9.5, 8.5.. I don't know, but would like to know. Do you know?

stock SCR is about 10.3 with stock 66.67cc heads. with 6.0L heads (71.05cc) SCR is about 9.8
