Default Seriously guys, what pusher fans are u running?

So i set up my c6/6.0truck manifold kit. So now i have to run pusher fans on the opposite side as stock of the rad/condensor.

I picked up some permacool 12inch fans (2) that are rated at 2300cfm each.
I installed them tonight and used the factory wiring so the pcm would still control them.

Theses thing suck and not in a good way. I cant even feel the air going through on the other side of the radiator.

I could not imagine these working let along when i turn the ac on.

So whats the deal, what works? Also, this is an auto car so i have to have 2 trans coolers or one big one on that side of the radiator/condensor also.
So the fans/fan is going to have to blow through that also.

Am i doomed to have to stand the radiator up striaght and run an aftermarket radiator?

Alex

I say switch the wires. I had the same problem on Mustang. It ran fine down the road with the wind hitting but stop and it would hit 240 in no time. I switched the wires and it ran about 15 degrees cooler than it ever used too.

http://www.derale.com/single-rad-fan.html

This is what I have, they have worked good so far. I just spliced them in to the factory plugs. They seem to work pretty good. But Sunday they quit working when I pulled in the race track driveway. After doing some testing I found out that the fans still work fine but I lost power to fuse block for some reason.

so i just fired it up again and let it run longer.not sure on how long it takes for the highspeed to kick on but if it was on it wasnt doing much.i really dont want to stand the rad up and have to get an expensive griffen. i wonder if i could notch out the rad support alittle just enough to fit a big 16inch puller in there and just wrap the **** out of the turbo.

would 1.5inch be okay in between a wraped turbo and a fan.
then i would run both 12s on the opposite side

those fan blades are set for a puller configuration. A blade like that is not reversable. By just changing the polarity of the fan motor. Do to the hub design you can not flip the blade over on the motor.

Even though it is reversdable, a pusher loses about 50% or more of its effectiveness.
I have a flex-a-lite black magic fan on my car, when I had the BBC in it I reversed the setup and made it into a pusher. It had no problem cooling my procharged 427. Those fans in the pic with no shroud would probably only work at 75% as pullers, as pushers like you experience...maybe 25%. Ideally you want a small space between the fan and the radiator to create a buffer....pusher or puller. The radiator in my car is 4" shorter than a stock one, and I have 1 fan. This pic isnt mine but looks exactly the same. It works VERY good. Ive tried at least a dozen electric fans and this one is the only aftermarket one I found to work.

ok what im going to do first is get the trans coolers out of the equation and remote mount them in the rear with a fan on one.then im going to try to slightly move the rad&cond forward alittle by notching the rad support slightly.
i think that will give me 2inches between my turbo and 2 12 inch fans as pullers.

what do u guys think.oh and thanks for all the replies

The swept fan blades are not reverseable by changing the motor rotation they have to be flopped over. This can be done on some styles like the hayden fans, because the hub is centered. look at the link of the deraile on post #5. there is a pusher and a puller. See how the motor is orientated differently so that the blade is flopped over.

For what it's worth, I went with a single Pusher from Summitt.

My Trans cooler is relocated to the back of the car with a manual switch fan on that. No AC. I am running the stereotypical Griffin Radiator with the factory modified front area.
