Default turbo manifolds

im turboing a 5.3 ls motor in a thirdgen. and i have tried the truck maniflods.. they just dont work... i need the maniflods to be closer to the motor. the bow in the truck maniflods kills me from using them on my 86 camaro... would the f-body manifolds or the Monte Carlo SS manifolds work better?

I think you need the front wheel drive manifolds because they hug the block better.

what are you trying to accomplish? i guess im confused at what your trying to do here?

you'll have to make a crossover that runs into your flange for your turbo

im wanting to use the maniflods for the turbo.. on the ls4 there is a crossover tube that connects one maniflod to the other and then the exhaust goes out the other manifold... i would have to cut this off and weld it back... on the manifold closest to the firewall... im thinking the f-body maniflods would be best... i have clearance issues with the 03' truck manifolds i have now...

if you can find 2 of the front LS4 manifolds it would be best they snug up real tight and then just make yourself a crossover

We did truck manifolds facing down on a thirdgen with some k-member cutting/ reinforcement. Dunno if we are gonna stay that route, as that project took a back burner, but it was all in there at one point...

can't see much, only pic I could dig up quick

I tried using 03 truck manifolds on mine as well at first, wasnt going to work. Cant remeber if I tried the 02 Fbody manifolds pointing forward, as im pretty sure you would have some trouble getting around the steering box/arm on the drivers side. I ended up using a 02 fbody manifold on the drivers side, and building a cross over that went under the trans, and fed a log that I made on the passenger side.
