Default FYI Edelbrock Vic Jr. L92 vs LS1

FYI guys. I just went from LS1 heads and LS1 Vic Jr. intake to L92 heads and L92 Vic Jr. intake.

The L92 Vic Jr. sits a full 3/4" taller then the LS1 version (maybe a hair more). I set my intake on Saturday and when I went to put my elbow on.... Well lets just say it wasn't close. We measured both intakes from the valley cover to top of intake flange and that is where the 3/4" came from. Not sure if this is an issue on the GM intake or not. I am having my intake decked as much as possible and having a new elbow built to accommodate the remaining difference.

Anyway i thought you guys should be aware of this.

That difference in height is where alot of the added power comes from on the victor jr milling that will hurt performance as to how much ??????? That height smooths the short turn to the runner oprning and helps the air make the turn into the runners alot smoother and keep velocity up in the big L92 ports. The GM intake from what I have tested has a very large drop in air speed and turbulence in the plenum.

Thanks for the info. My machinist saw no issues with the amount he took off the top, he said anymore then that would start causing issues.
