trying to transition to boost

Default trying to transition to boost

OK so i built this car with nitrous in mind, and i love the juice, its addicting, but im debating on going the boost route, after much searching I have these Questions:

first (firebird 347 ls1, 10.4 CR with .04 gasket, 3600 stall built tranny, 3.73 rearend 10 bolt)

car made 414 rwhp Na, and decent 500's on a small shot

A.my concerns, If i can get the CR down to 10-1 what realistic boost numbers can I run with a little P1 blower?

B.my cam is a 232 234 598/601 112, how bad does this need to be changed

C.I have 42.5 lb injectors, and am seeing 73ish% ICD

D. im trying to get into the low-mid 500 hp range, close to my n20 numbers

You might be able to leave the CR and put on a meth kit. Spraying in a bunch of meth might save you some dough on a fuel system too.

You could buy the fail safe that Snow sells and wire it into a timing controller to yank a bunch of timing and light up a warning should the meth fail.

my buddy has meth on his kenne bell mustang, it lights up when he is below a half a tank, really nice setup, meth is what 3-400 bucks?

fuel system: walbro 255lph, return style fuel system, 97-98 vette fuel rail, 42.5# injectors

I've got the 42.5 injectors also. I'm running 99% with my 7lb spring and n/a it was right around 70%.

thanks, so i could benefit from a bigger injector, thicker headgasket, possibly different cam.

my 408 is 10.4:1 c/r...cam is 228/234 113+1
93 and meth kit for the street.

Put a set of 317 truck heads on, get some 60 # injectors and you will be good to go.

seems they can be found decently cheap, how is the flow on them? compared to my patriot stage 2's?

any other input? do you guys think I would be fine with a P1 since im doing a low boost application <10 lbs

I'd sell the stage 2 heads for a recoup and put the 317's on. Then their would definitely be no problem with less than 10lbs

A) A set of 317or 6.0L heads will safely drop the compression level to 9.6:1. No need to screw around with a thicker head gasket. A P1SC or D1SC will safely run on that compression level.

B) Not the most optimal, but the cam should make some good power.

C) You will be pushing 42# injectors, so get some bigger ones.

D) You should be able to break the 500 rwhp mark with a P1SC and easily break the 500 rwhp mark with a D1SC.
