Default First track outing with the ebay kit

Let me start off by saying the runs were on some dead quick time pros. The first three runs were garbage.

1. Burnout, tried to leave off the 2 step and it was set up too high and rolled the beams, let in and out of the throttle 1.975 60' 7.582 @ 96.58 mph

2. Burnout, left of the converter, blew the piping off where it meets the turbo, 1.84 60' 8.841 @ 76.45 mph

3. Burnout, left off the converter, had a boost leak at the throttle body, pulled all kinds of timing, no KR, a piece of my intercooler piping flew off at half track I was told 1.754 60' 7.553 @ 90.90 mph

4. Burnout, left of the converter, I had 14 degrees of timing commanded but only seen 9-12 through out the run I'm guessing due to burst knock, 1.653 60' 7.101 @ 99.012 mph. My IAT's were 118-135 throughout the run from beginning to end. I am running of the wastegate spring now and seen a max of 8.2lbs but it stayed right around 6-7lbs through the run.

Every pass there was spinnage off the line. After coming back and parking I would feel the tires and not even sticky. I could feel the *** end just scootin the whole way down the track like was just floating.

I had tons of fun even with the mishaps. The wife and I went and we had some friends come with us. It was a blast to finally get to take it down the track.

To do list:
-fix my cooling problem (any suggestions on some not so expensive good cooling fans?)

-New tires (any suggestions on biggest tire without rolling the fender?)

-LCA relocation brackets (anyone have some black ones?)

-Get some consistent good launches off the converter and THEN use the two step

-Sell my MAF meth kit that I cannot use and get the right MAP kit

-Get some drag shocks/springs (if the wife approves)

-Get a nice boost controller (suggestions?)

I'd say getting the 60' down, get my timing correct like it does on the street, and not have any problems on the pass, I should be in the mid to high 6's. That's good for me. The key things being clean passes and getting the meth to get the IAT's down.

A 275/50/15 Mickey will not require fender rolling. Not sure what rim and tire you are on right now but the same size tire in a MT DR will work much better I'm sure.

As for suspension, get a drag bar first (I use the Spohn). It made the biggest difference for my car out of all the stuff that I have done.

I have weld 15x10's. But I also have Z06 rims/tires for the street. Right now I'm on some bald Hoosier quick time pros 27 x 11.5's.

Thanks for the suggestion! What do you use for fans?

Definitely good shake down runs! What was your raceweight and what was the DA there? What converter are you using?

Here's a vid, rolled through the beams. They were nice enough to let try again. I wanted to try and get a clean launch so I was makin a sandwich at the light. I believe the reaction time was 1.234. Spun out the hole, hit the rev limiter and I'm guessing burst knock stole my timing:

I have had good luck with the Perma Cool high output fans....they move more air than most in the price range, right around $100 and fit in most place. Example of the 12" part number I use is 19008 off the top of my head.

Do you have a link for the drag bar?

The tires were spent. They are quicktime pros and you can't even see the middle line on the tread. It was probably for the best that I didn't hook with the ol' 10 bolt

There is quite a bit more money spent on the ebay kit than just buying it and slapping it on and your done.

-hot parts/IC were 800
-cold parts 150
-bov 100
-wastegate 250
-fuel pump 100
-wideband/boost gauge/fp gauge 275
-ps lines 120
-paint 30
-misc bs 200
-drain and feed 110
-alternater relocation 110
-wrap 80
-pilar pod 30
-solid mounts 150
-clamps 100
-coil relocation 150
-electric fans 50 (which aren't good enough so now that's more money)
-radiator 200
-boost ref reg and rails 200
-turbo 600
-new belt 30
-hood 350

And I'm sure there is more

Didn't dyno it. I got my fans off of ebay too. Don't waste your money on them. If you don't believe me, you can buy mine instead of theirs

They might fit, I'm not sure. I don't have them any more. I haven't decided on the fans yet.
