Default Got a question for guys running a fuel pressure gauge

I just installed a electric fuel pressure gauge and have been watching it just cruising around. My supercharger is off the car for some mods, so no full throttle action. I am seeing pressures fluctuate between low 50's to low 60's. I have it in my head that a pump should provide a constant set pressure. What are you seeing as far as fuel pressure as you drive around? Thanks

Do you have a boost referenced fuel pressure regulator? Bob

I do, hence why I see a constant 58 psi.

It sounds like you don't. But I don't recall mine varying that much. It only varied that much on WOT runs, it would drop a few psi.

Something doesn't sound right. 10psi is a big difference even if is referenced and you're staying out of boost. What is the rest of your fuel setup?

255 ltr pump, 42Lb green tops, and tune is all that has been done to the fuel system.

Mine stays rock steady until I get on it, but even then it only drops a few PSI if any.

mine does that sometimes, ill start the car and it will be 60psi, shut it off and it may be the same, sometimes it goes to 55psi and stays their. i dont get it, maybe a regulator issue. i have a dual walbro setup.

I did a bit of reading and the in tank pick-up assembly has a built in regulator. I have a second Walbro setup, so might swap that in. I had some grounding issues to get the gauge reading, so will play with that a bit first.

Im running the racetronix pump with harness and 60lb injectors. My pressure stays at 60psi and might drop a couple psi under boost.

That is a big fluctuation to be just driving around. I would look over the entire fuel system. Have you monitored your voltage at all? When I had voltage issues in the past, the fuel pressure would drop as soon as voltage dropped. Also, try to make sure that it isn't just a bad gauge/bad sending unit.
