I think a majority of people are running the ngk tr6's. Im running those on my car. I would suggest going with those and not the tr55's.

If you don't like changing plugs as often run tr6ix iridiums they should last many thousands of miles.I run them on my boosted cars. If you are going really high boost you could even go to tr7ix. the iridiums don't foul up like the copper ones can in around town driving so you can go colder and not have problems for extra safety.
You can also gap them down if you are careful don't use wheel gapper and don't contact the electrodes they are delicate.

If you don't have headers doing plugs in an lt1 is nasty nasty. Ask me how I know! LOL

Default 2X vote!

It ONLY took me 4 hours Tuesday to replace all 8 plugs and plug wires - having said that, my first attempt at replacing just the plugs ONLY took 6.25 hours! I guess that's better, right?

Yeah go with the TR6's they are a cooler heat range than the TR55's. How is the setup going?

Thats why I run iridiums in all my cars.
Get mac headers on the lt1 makes plug changes 15 minutes. I would still run idiriums regardless though.Don't like changing plugs yearly. Every time you change plugs you risk stripping out threads, wrecking wires, etc. Be sure of course to use antiseize.

Gap around .028 to .030 I would say. As for how long a year maybe depending on miles.I can see using them in cars like my talons that you can do plugs easily in like 10 minutes.
I would for sure put mac headers in your car if you want to start changing plugs yearly.
