Default Aftermarket defogger for windshield?????

As with many of us with turbo setups, I had to sacrifice my A/C. Living in Florida = afternoon thunderstorms almost daily. This adds up to alot of wipping the windshield with a towl in order to be able to see.

I was told that there were some aftermarket electric heaters with a fan that you can mount under the dash to blow warm air on the windshield and keep it from fogging up. Does anyone have a link or info on these? I can't seem to find them. I found everything from the **** you wipe on the glass (generally accepted that it doesn't work) to some new nanotech laquer coating that is energized that they are working on (works but not available).

An electric heater would be a nice option but man would it ever suck the electricity. even a 600 watt element would pull down 50 amps at 12 volts

What you want is the Mojave heater from summit. Check in the drag racing forum, lots of guys using them. Mine was about $120 I think.

Looks like they've gone up. $159.00 + Freight for the basic piece.

And another $41.88 + freight for the plenum box.

Don't think that I will need the plenum box as I should be able to mount and aim it at the defogger louvers in the dash pad. Seems like overkill for what I need as I will rarely, if ever, need it for actually warming up the engine compartment here in South Florida.

Would one of these electric units get too hot to put under the dash and aim at the defogger louvers in the dash pad?

Put a small ac compressor on your car, you could mount it in various places to keep it out of the way. Not cheap but it would work.

I mounted a mojave to blow straight up through the dash onto the windshield. I used it a couple times I got caught in the rain and it worked descent...with no wipers either.

$160 is kinda steap and I'd rather not go thru the trouble of plumbing it in. But I gotta do something. Very unsafe.

A really good cleaning followed by some RainX anti-fog on all the insides of the windows has done a great job for me. RainX regular on the outside and mirrors and you're golden.

I dont understand- You removed the AC. Not the defogger, unless you completely gutted the heater box and everything?
