Default Redone EPP frontmount

Well I have my car apart to get it painted, while its all in pieces I went ahead and redid my fmic kit so that there is a front support to replace the section cut out to fit the intercooler. Just posting some pics to give others ideas.

The paint build thread is here:

maybe ten pounds. im less concerned with a few pounds then having good reinforcement in case of a front end collision. this is a daily driver car.

I dont want to talk down on anyone's work but how you made the three pieces of square tubing connect w/ the welds i will break in an accident because you did a filler weld which is not strong the least bit.
Also think about if some how you hit a pole or something of that nature... Right through the tube, or crush the stamped sheetmetal its attached to?

A butt weld can be very strong if there is enough penetration. I use to butt weld together two pieces of 14" channel 35 ft long that were used on bucket (cherry pickers) trucks.

I'd say it will help in minor collisions, nicely done. Bob
