Default Boost on a Stock T/A

I'm thinking about getting another T/A and I have a Turbo Set-up That I had for my Camaro. The T/A is mostly stock and I was wondering how much boost a Stock Ls1 could handle. Who else has Turbo'd a Stock Motor and how much gain can I expect out of it?

8-10psi max. Lots of people have done it, look for the boost and stock bottom end thread.

I got up to about 12psi with a front mount 72mm which lifted the heads. So I pulled the motor and getting ready to put it back together.

8-10psi is right. But if you are really worried about blowing it up, dont take any chances and build it up to take more pressure before you get it going.

Fairly meaningless without knowing what turbo you are using. A big one makes a lot more hp at 10psi than a small one at 10psi.
I wouldn't be going too high on stock compression. If you want dead reliability 5psi is still a kick in the pants on something like base sts turbo. Local guy has run that for several years now. 7psi with good tune. Past that would want to see like lower compression. The weak links are the pistons in stock engines. Mistakes in tuning can be very unforgiving with the fragile stock ringlands. Not sure how good stock rodbolts are either. Stock crank is strong, block not bad.Rods not too bad.
But wouldn't start pushing things too hard unless you can afford downtime and the rebuilt costs.Conservative is the key. I know there are guys in the other post that seem to get away with quite a bit on the stock engine.
I also have some souvenirs from guys cars in my garage. One guy went only 8psi on his ati p1sc and took out a piston. Other guy has little boo boo with his greddy boost controller on his sts car and took out several pistons.

Well I just have a Turbo set up That I had planned going on my Camaro but things are taking longer than I expected so I though about putting it on my T/A in the mean time. Its just a little T-67 Garret that will be mounted up front so Im not looking to make BIG Power with it, I just want it on there for the time being for a little extra kick.
