I can tell you from my old Avalanche with an STS kit dumped to atmosphere it sounds like a loud as heck jet engine. You can't hear much over the noise and the popo's hear it also. It got pretty annoying after a few weeks. I wouldn't have done it, but the stupid STS design kept holding the wastegate shut and it would overboost.
