Default I Know I Know, Not Another Ebay build!

Well yes another ebay build. I wasn't going to post but I am excited and pretty proud of what i have accomplished. I have been working on my car for about 8 months. Never intended on going as in depth on the build, but it is finally about done and going on the dyno on the 25th. Its funny how the build started all becouse of a grenaded 10 bolt! Pulled the rear end out and proceeded to tear the rest of the car down.
Here is a list of Mods:
Lq4, 317 heads
ARP head studs and rod bolts
ported oil pump
double roller timing chain
03 ZO6 cam

Sweet! I started my rear mount DIY with the GT-88 before I saw that ebay kit. If I wasn't so far into what I have I would have bought that kit. I wish I would have. The only thing I did not like about that kit was the wires on the drivers side look real close. Nothing that some good header wrap and heat sheilding could not fix.

I like what you did with the radiator and its support. Do you still have the AC in this car? Will the AC condensor still fit infront of your radiator? Do you have a part number on that radiator that you can share? I am running that same Edelbrock elbow, I am not sure that I like it. I am pretty sure it is causing a major restriction on my engine, like 100hp NA restriction. NA my engine is down about 100-150hp from expected. I am hoping it will not matter with the turbo.

Keep us posted, I am actually going out into the garage to pull my front end off so I can start installing my intercooler like yours. I have the hot side finished and I have run the cold side from the rear mount up to the middle of the car.

Great job! Keep us posted and put more pics of your build up please.

No ac in the car anymore, Im not sure if the condensor would fit or not. The radiator is a griffin GRI-1-25241-X. I got mine from Summit for about $200.
I started the car for the first time last monday, everything seems to be working great so far. I have put about 50 or 60 miles on it so far. I will post some more recent pics up later.

I'd like to see your dyno numbers and track times. You have more cubes and a larger turbo, but I'd still like to know. What kind of boost are you going to be running? Does that single fan keep it cool? I ended up going with the Taurus fan to finally keep my car cool. I'd like to get my cold side redone, but I don't have a welder. It looks good, but what rear did you end up going with

I have 2 fans and they are border line on keeping my car cool. I know i am going to have to replace them. Also I have moddest HP hopes of 550 wheel! I think it should do it on 10lbs of boost. We will see next saturday.

98camarod, What fan setup did you use? Taurus? Where can I look at these?

Its the fan from a box body 3.8l Taurus. I got mine off of, you guessed it, ebay. It keeps it under 190* in the SC heat. That is what I figured I was making was around 550rwhp, but you do have the th400 so that's going to "eat up" some power.

What rear did you end up going with?

lol, you probably would if it didn't go else where. I recently put in a 9". I thought about the 12 bolt, but after researching I found the 9" to be the better decision.

Well I figured after watching a few corvettes live on there rearends on boost above 10lbs running in the mid 10's or faster. I should be ok as long as I keep my 60's soft.

I've read that elbow will cause the front cylenders to starve for air flow might wanna watch the plugs closely.

Yah, I have been continplating this. I am thinking of changing the entire intake out. I am just not sure what will work best with the FI and not require cutting on the car. Any advice?

Hey CK! The LS6 intake will not fit my L92 heads. I am thinking of a sheet metal intake. I am looking into buying a tig and building one myself. Who knows, I might start selling them if it works out right.
