Default What is the effect of being to the left of the surge line in lower rpm?

So I've been using the consumption chart for a 370ci LS1 and compressor maps on www.forcedinductions.com

From plotting points what is the effect of being to the left of the surge line at low rpm(3000) then moving in toward the center island higher in the rpm?

I guess what I'm trying to ask is: At what rpm do I plot all the points? 2k and above? 5k and above?

It's going to depend on your setup and whether or not you build boost very fast or not. Don't go 100% off the compressor maps, they are just generalizations. FWIW i've never seen or heard of complaints about a large displacement engine surge due to spooling too fast, only smaller displacement engines.

Even if it does happen you usually transition though it pretty quick and it's a non issue.

Since you have a 3000+ stall i'd start plotting from there up since you will not make any boost below that point unless you are on a two step.

I called forced inductions today and he said don't worry about it with the displacement I'm running. He recommended twin TC76's for me.
